North Bondi members offer their prayers to the family, friends and Queenscliff Club mates of Saxon Bird whose life was tragically cut short at the Australian Championships. Our thoughts are very much with you all.

The Club sent a team of 70 competitors plus 8 support staff including an IRB driver which was required by our entry conditions. With the treacherous surf the team competed with some events moved, others delayed and then eventually the water events were cancelled. Nevertheless with all the distractions North Bondis Club spirit ensured we proudly competed in all events possible. This was no more evident than us entering 2 beach relay sides formed primarily from our ski paddlers and a couple of runners, with both these teams making the finals. Ready Aye Ready indeed. Our Under 17 march past team didnt disappoint and put together their 4th straight win in this event, with the Open march past side surprising everyone including themselves with a terrific 2nd place. Siobhan McCarthy continued her fine form with a great silver in the 2km beach run. Our Masters results showed the great depth the Club has across the spectrum of events.
