Hi everyone and welcome to Nippers for season 2010/11.
This year’s Nipper President is Jim Walker and Nipper Co-ordinator is Justine Nolan. For all Nipper enquiries please contact Justine at nippers@northbondisurfclub.com or mobile 0425 260 496.
Thank you to all those in Age Manager and Assistant roles and also to the wonderful Water Safety team without whom we would not have a Nipper season.
If you would like to take on any of these roles please contact Justine. Even if your specific age group has a current Age Manager please don’t hesitate to add your name to assist. The more assistance each age group has will definitely benefit the kids. You do not need any qualifications – just a little bit of time as we will assist you in teaching the kids.
ALL nipper parents have the opportunity to do their Bronze medallion. We would love to have as many parents involved as we can. For information regarding the bronze please email education@northbondisurfclub.com if you are interested.
If you can’t assist on the beach there are other areas we can always use help in – please remember that Nippers is run by parents who volunteer their time –therefore any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Sunday mornings…
Please ensure your children have adequate sunscreen protection, a water bottle and wearing their nipper cap. Children may wear a sunhat with a peak for protection – just place the nipper cap over the top.
When you arrive to the beach on Sunday 17th October (first day of Nippers) you will see various flags set up on the beach at the bottom of the ramp directly in front of the Club. These are your Age Group Flags. Please proceed to your appropriate flag where you will be greeted by your Age Manager.

Children in the U8 [7], age group are given beach activities and wade races. At the discretion of the Age Manager children may do short swims and board paddling, occasionally.
Children U9 [8] to U14 [13], compete in beach and water events and are taught water safety and surf life saving skills.
Age Group of Managers Children are under supervision of an age manager, a willing parent. Parents must ensure that their children sign on with their age manager, and also sign off before leaving their supervision. Children that do not sign on and off will not be considered as attended for the day. Parents are not to leave the group.
Please refer to the note to parents on helping out.
Club Caps Club caps must be worn at all times during NIPPER activities. All competitors must wear club caps and must finish ALL events with the cap on the head and tied under the chin otherwise they can be disqualified at carnivals. Caps are worn for safety reasons so children can be seen in the water and differentiated from water safety officers. Water safety officers wear ORANGE caps, Surf LifeSavers wear RED & YELLOW caps. Colour of caps per age groups are:
U6 Boys - Blue
U6 Girls - Red
U7 Boys - Green
U7 Girls - Gold
